A friend from the U.S. is considering applying for jobs here in the Ottawa area.
I'm knowledgeable about the reverse (Canada to US job hunting, visa, etc.) but not for foreign skilled workers coming to Canada.
Would someone be able to provide advice on job hunting strategies? ie. Would you mention right off the bat in a cover letter that you're from the U.S. with some explanation of why/how you're coming here? Provide your home address or use a local address?
Is there a database somewhere of companies that already have Labour Market Opinions?
Is a head hunter a good option? He's a process engineer (currently V.P. Operations for a small manufacturing company).
