I wanted to ask what kind of compensation an investment analyst (with CFA or MBA but more input on CFA) would make in Toronto. I am interested in finding out those working for small to medium investment management companies in downtown Toronto. I am curious if completing CFAs makes sense or staying in my field rather than starting all over again in a junior role. I would like to sense about salary range for an equity analyst or fixed income analyst in small to medium shop (no real estate or alternative investment shop). I am not interested in finding out small to mid cap investment banking shop and respective salary, which I do not think it is a viable option for me. Also, I would like to get your feed back about your sense of job security and/or security in the money management industry. Are there too many CFAs competing for entry-to-junior manager position now in Toronto? Do you feel industry overall is declining or growing? Those already in the industry, do you feel good about your prospects or are you worried about future?
