I'm a P.Eng/MBA that has experience/interest in both operations management and change management, and just applied for Change management role at a company. Had an interview today that went well, but over the past weekend when preparing i noticed a new role at on their website for a job in Operations management. Both jobs interest me, but based on the description i suspect the operations role likely has even more responsibility (direct reports, etc) and could lead to further advancement more quickly.
I didnt bring up my interest for it at the interview today, mainly because it was with both HR and Manager of the CM position.
Would it look bad to email the HR rep and thank them for taking time of the interview and let them know that I'd also be interested in interviewing for the other role? Or should i formally apply as well?
What would be a good approach to become a candidate of the other position, but not ruin your chance with this one, hmmm... thanks for any help.
