I originally saw this on my university's career services page today, and then went to the temp agency site to find the direct link to be able to post it, as it strikes me as a posting that is a "sign of the times," so to speak:

I wonder if it ever occurred to them to try putting up a sign to advertise for staff. I suppose this is a sign of how restaurants are reacting to the phasing out of the TFW system for restaurant workers (perhaps we will see a lot more of it in the future). It looks like temp agencies are taking over in a lot of different fields, now. On the upside, it's not listed as an unpaid internship.
On this topic, temporary jobs are apparently increasing greatly in number nowadays. In BC, this recent article: http://www.canadianbusiness.com/econ...obs-growth-bc/ says that 40%(!) of all jobs created in that province were temporary in the years from 2009-2013, with the chart indicating the rest of Canada not following far behind. For those who think this trend toward temporary agencies covering the bulk of work as not a bad thing (more flexibility!), the report also warns, "that sustained temp work can be a “trap” — it makes finding a steady job harder for those that want it by creating the impression that job seekers are damaged goods, a plight not unlike that of the long-term unemployed."
