Overseas intern position help

Hi,

So basically I am graduating in a few months and have been in the process of looking for jobs. I sent in my resume to a top firm in Asia for an intern position (it is paid). I got a prompt reply from HR saying that they are interested to have me go for an interview, and asked me when would be a good time for me to go meet the head of the dept I applied for. Of course, I'm not in the country at the moment and wouldn't be able to physically go there yet so I proposed to see if having a phone interview would be a viable option. No response since then. I sent a follow up Email just before the weekend and still no response up till today.

Just a few more notes on this scenario:
- I hold citizenship in the country that I applied in (although they don't know that...but I'm sure that comes later...)
- They have had interns from other countries all the time, so I don't see why me being in another country at the moment would be an issue
- the intern positions are typically in the summer so they are not looking for an immediate position to be filled.

So up till now:
- Sent in my resume
- They replied showing interest and want to interview me
- I replied proposing the option of a phone interview
- No response
- I send a follow-up email
- No response

What should I do next? Call them and ask? Give up? Any pointers from more experienced job hunters are appreciated. It seems strange that they would just stop replying. Thanks in advance!
