Best methods for finding summer internships/coops?

Hi everybody,

Looking to get ahead of the pack by utilizing my summer vacations gaining relevant work experience. So, what are the best methods you've used to land a summer internship/coop position ? I've applied to a few through my school's career website, but have yet to receive any response.
