I had a first interview a few weeks ago with the manager and supervisor of the potential place that I might be working as it was described in the job posting. I would imagine I did well on that because a few days ago, I got called back for a tour of where I would be working. The strange and concerning thing is that the HR rep also asked me to meet with her after the tour. Luckily, I anticipated a second interview and prepared in advance. As it turns out, it was an actual interview.
My question is, if the hiring manager already OK'd me in the first interview, why is HR insisting on seeing me now ? I would totally understand them screening me in the first interview, but it seems a bit weird for that to happen at this stage. My gut tells me the HR rep is just looking for excuses to strike me off the hire list or that she has a connection who she wants to put into the position. Could any of these be the case or was this interview more of a formality ?
