I've been looking up the many bookkeeping certifications offered to Canadians who want to become a bookkeeper. However, I know a lot of people don't have an actual certification. I was wondering if a simple 2 year college diploma or advanced diploma in accounting would give someone the knowledge to become a bookkeeper?
I'm currently in my 2nd year of a community college program in accounting and there seems to be many things that could relate to a bookkeeping job. However I'm wondering if this type of education would be enough to become a full-time bookkeeper. I know there are many degrees of bookkeepers, but I am merely wondering if it is possible to start off with a simple diploma rather than get a bookkeeping certification?
