I'm interested in a career in investment advisory, I have completed an accounting degree and the cfa exams and have looked at the salaries related to the Investment Advisor or Financial Planner positions and they don't make much vs. a corporate role in accounting, or as a glorified pencil pusher at a bank or large company (i.e. Analyst / Sr. Analyst) type roles.
Are there any positions where you're doing Investment Advisory or Financial planning that actually makes a decent annual salary that you can raise a family on? -- Kind of also looking for some stability to, but do understand how volatile markets can be and the positions tied to those markets.
Ideally, I'd want to be a fee-based advisor, but not much out there from what I've googled.
