Hello,
I'm entering my 3rd year at McGill and I'm sort of stuck between a Joint Honours in Econ/Math or a Joint Honours in Econ/Finance
Points to Note :
1. My primary concern is being able to land a good internship next summer and get a job on graduation.
2. I've already done several math courses such as Calc 1-4, Prob/Stats, Linear Algebra, Real Analysis
3. My cGPA is very good and I feel I could do well in either choice.
My family told me that employers value finance more then math since the knowledge you learn is directly applicable to your job rather than the abstract thinking in math.
In your experience, do employers prefer finance/econ over math/econ?
