Got promoted...but I'm planning to leave soon...?

Would like to get some opinions on this situation...

I've been working at my company for a few years now, and my manager has decided that I've apparently proven myself and am ready for some new/increased responsibilities. Due to this, our entire accounting department (8 people) is being shifted around and pretty much everyone is getting new/modified responsibilities as job roles change.

Only problem is that I've found a new job, but it doesn't start until October...and I haven't told my boss. If I tell my boss this now, I will likely have to leave the company (as there's no way they're going to keep a person on board who's explicitly said he's leaving). However, I obviously don't want to lose ~3 months of income while I wait until October.

So my question is....do I just take the new role and help with the transition, pretending everything is fine until October, or do I just come clean now and tell my boss that I'm planning to leave so they can stop with this department restructuring? My only fear about staying quiet until October is that I'm pretty sure my bosses will be quite upset that they made so many changes (essentially for me), and I ditch the place a few months later....burning these bridges doesn't sound like a particularly good idea.
