Termination, dismissal = Fired?

Hi Everyone,

here is my situation,

I have been working in a retail company for almost 2 years as full time position.

I was currently being terminated, on the termination day, I talked to HR, why, they told me, no reason given, I ask them, is this fired or lay off?? they told me it is terminated, see, this is the tricky part, they were playing the word games at that time. you could still apply for EI, and they give me a termination letter and 2 weeks salary and let me go. I mean, I have no choice, I have to go, and I left the company.

I have finished EI online application, and I got the electronically copy of ROE and sent it to SERVICE CANADA as well, however, when I ask the Customer representative from SERVICE CANADA to follow up with my status today, Service Canada rep I may not get my EI because my condition is dismissal not lay off. which means I was being fired.

I called my previous employer, am I being fired:twisted: why you told me is termination? as far as I know, I will not get EI if I am being fired. my previous employer told me that I did not do anything wrong, but I am not able to fit my previous position, and I was let go, OMG, I have been working there for almost 2 years, and they did not give me any reason on the day they terminate me, but now, they are telling me I am not able to fit my position????

My question is, Am I still able to get my EI for this situation?

I have do nothing wrong, could they just fired me??

If I am being fired, what should I say in my future job hunting? it is really annoying!
