Statutory holidays?

Hi there,

I want to know more information about Statutory Holidays for the Easter weekend. It stated that, for Quebec, for a statutory holidays: "Good Friday or Easter Monday at the employer’s choice". Does it mean if I work on Good Friday, I should be off Easter Monday and verse versa? The reason why I bought this up I ask my employer about it (I work in retail), they stated that because all retail stores are close Sunday, it consider the day off to compensate the day off for either Good Friday or Easter Monday and I ended up working both days. It doesn't make any sense since what the acted posted state it's you work either Good Friday or Easter Monday, but it doesn't say anything about Sunday (when all the stores are close and everyone got off), how does this statutory holiday in the act applies?

Then, if that is the case, then why all the stores are close on Sunday if technically it's not a statutory holiday? There isn't anything in the act mentioning Sunday being an off day?
