Turning Point in your career stories

Hey guys,

Has anyone here ever doubted or get bored of what they do?

Right now,

I'm in a very comfortable state, but yet i don't feel satisfied. Maybe grass is always greener on the other-side, but I always feel that I could do so much more. But unfortunately, i made some mistakes in the past that would hinder any movement. I'm here too look for advice on career jumps and what inspired you to do what you did. (Either drop work and go do an international MBA or switch career paths).

Unfortunately, i'm carrying a big boulder on my back with "government" experience on my resume... No big consulting firm (Mckinsey or Bain or BCG) would ever consider me (even if i had high grades in MBA class - if i opted to).

My current stats:

Income: 80k
Age: 27
Status: Married (by sept)
Mortgage: 540k
Career: Public Sector - Real Estate
Household income: 190k (Canadian tax makes us feel like we're making a lot less)

Undergrad: Waterloo Engineering

I really enjoy sales, consulting and entrepreneurship.

- What path would you do if you were in my shoes...... Quit and peruse an MBA (I will only do this if i get into top tier schools).
- Sit and suck it up and slowly build a real estate portfolio

I wanted to see if anyone here had some interesting stories of what they gave up to achieve happiness OR some regret stories.
