Hey guys, forum stalker here decided to make an account and start posting.
I have this problem at work and im wondering what your input would be on it.
Im guessing everyones job does their annual review meeting to sit down with their boss and discuss how they feel they are with the company, any problems, future projections and a wage increase. Now I have been with my company for about 2 years and about 4 months now and I have not received my second annual review and am starting to get really frustrated with my boss.
Now a little bit of backstory:
After my first year I had my review and had an extremely small wage increase, and was told by my boss that Im doing great, and this is the highest amount that she can give me this year. I said that its fine and ill be happy with it. During our review I was told that in the future I can take a co-workers position during her mat leave since theyre looking for someone, as long as I had proper certification. Which means more than a yearly pay increase to me, as it adds to my resume, will increase my wage during that period (and most likely afterwards too).
Now for the ending of the second year:
I finished all of my certifications for this new job, told my employer, coworker is having a baby and everyone is happy. I get sat down with another coworker with the management team and we are told that the job is basically a fight between us two, and may not even be given to us, vs. outside hiring. Now this coworker is a good friend inside of work and we work closely together about 3 times a week. So as you may imagine the two of us a fuming, and neither of us knew about the other. Seems out management team got themselves in some sort of a pickle and is pitting the two of us against eachother.
She told me she hasnt finished her certification yet and may not plan on finishing it now as she thought her job was already settled.
Now not only this but I still havent gotten my second year review. It was due about a month before my certification was received so I figured she was waiting for that to finish. After it was finished I personally told her it was done. Than a week later I sent her an e-mail to remind her of my review, than a month later I reminded her in person. Than a week later I sent another e-mail where I got the response that she is 'behind on reviews'. Now its been about 4 months behind and I am really frustrated.
Ive begun looking for another job but is there anything else I can do to get this review to happen.
Now I didnt mention that I do ALOT more in my work place than I did after my first year.. (alot), as well as schooling for this particular job. So I am expecting a decent pay increase.
I received an e-mail the other day to fill out a review on my boss (was too busy to start it, but will next week), it says its anonymous but im scared that if I got into too much depth she can figure out who it was from but I really feel like spilling my heart out on that too.
Maybe this is just me being thrown in to office politics.
Thanks RFD.
