I just graduated with an undergrad in Economics and have worked as an Accountant but would really like to become a Flooring Contractor (learn the trade) and then open my own business as General Contractor (Construction Company). Can you please tell me how to become flooring contractor (which licenses are required), is apprenticeship required for this? Also, I would like to start my business as General Contractor starting with basement and renovation projects and then building homes. I am thinking of hiring subcontractors for the business. Can you please tell me how I can start and exactly which licenses will be required because I searched online for a long time but could not find information for the above topics.
