Greetings all,
I am currently deciding on which career I should pursue. I have no idea which career I want to pursue, but I know the following two things:
(1) Working for someone else doesn't appeal to me at all. I hate resumes, cover letters, and job applications. And I hate networking; just the word makes me sick. I don't mind working for someone else initially, because I understand that I first have to learn the skills and then I can move out on my own.
(2) I want a profession. I want to have a skill that I can use to aid others, and a skill or set of skills that I can eventually master. Think, doctors, lawyers, accountants, etc. So, for instance, when I say I want to open up my own business, I don't want to open up my own clothing store.
So far, the only professions that I can think of are:
Doctor
Lawyer
Accountant (although I don't know much about opening a private practice in this career)
Dentist
I understand that the above list is probably exhaustive when it comes to professions where one can open up a private practice, but if you have any other professions to add to this list, please let me know.
Thank you.
