Frustrated with Employer Expectations (5 Years after Graduating)

Is this a rant? Is this just another thread that shows how bad The Career Sub-forum has become?

Maybe, but I don't have a blog ....

I really hate how HIGH companies expectations have become.

I have this feeling that most do not want to spend a single second on training people to do a particular task or anything really.

I apply to jobs that I may not have the exact training they would like, but is related.

I feel discouraged that employers are unwilling to provide me (and others) with a chance and to train them.

I can see that their are job opportunities in my field, and yet, I fall short of what all employers want.

To be clear, I do get interviews regularly, but they always end with me not being obtaining a position.

To be honest, I have no problem performing menial jobs that provide minimal pay (minimum wage), but it's not really where I expected to be 5 years after graduating at the top of my class.

Perhaps some people are destined for greatness while others must accept failure.

Not really sure what I want this thread to be.

Do I want others to say they agree with me and they are in the same situation?
Do I want tips and guidance on how to improve?

You Decide!
