Week long interview on professors dime?

I have been placed in a very strange situation and would like to get RFD's opinion on this.

I am a MSc student that will be finishing soon. A few weeks ago, the industrial partner (a large multinational corporation) that is partially supporting my research told my professor that they are looking to hire a few new employees in the fall :cheesygri. Cue my professor recommending me, e-mailing of resume and all that jazz. They call this week and briefly talk to me that they are interested in me visiting the company to meet the team and see if I would fit, however as this visit would be about a week long would my professor have any funding to pay for this week long visit . At this point I am left speechless due to the fact that they want like a week long interview? (or is this like a week long unpaid internship), and are unwilling to pay for it. They also mention that other students in our lab could come as well. The person I am talking too doesn't really give much in terms of details and was more interested in talking to my professor than me.

This raises numerous questions, they key ones are:

What I am going to be doing for the week? Tours, interview and meeting people surely isn't a week long process.
Why should my professor be paying for this and not the company (seems very sketchy/cheap)?
They seem more interested in organizing this visit with my professor than me; if they are interested in hiring me shouldn't they be interested in dealing with me?
If this is an 'interview' why did they say that other students are welcome to join?
Where is the line between interview and visit as students/research partners as they seem to be blurring the two?
