It's basically too many people chasing after too few jobs in the GTA or Ontario for that matter.
Is Calgary still booming? Or I should try my luck in SK?
I have a Bachelor of Commerce and have worked 5 years (approaching 6) as a Clerk to Assistant Supervisor (whatever that means) after a couple of promotions. I do what a Supervisor does, but not a supervisor. I even supervise people lol. Workload kept on piling up each month basically. Adding more responsibilities because I am capable. Pulling long hours without pay, and have been working on weekends for the past month without pay either. The workload is just outrageous.
Most of the problematic cases were passed on to me because they think I can easily handle them. I could easily do it, but since they are troublesome, it requires a lot of researching time, which the company doesn't compensate for.
I might get another promotion this year, but with a promotion comes with more responsibilities. The salary increase on a promotion is a joke. With 3 promotions, I am only making 30% more than the entry level (5 years ago). Although I can request people to do things for me; however, since most of my things are special cases, our boss and myself do not want to put those things in the hands of someone else. The only thing I can ask them to do for me is to file the completed works away, which is the relaxing and fun part.
Anyways, I see I am going nowhere with my current company. I don't get any replies (not one) after sending out around 10 resumes per week.
