Company Pensions

I was discussing a potential job opportunity last week, and when it came down to salary the guy mentioned the company does not offer a pension. This should be factored in to my salary since I will need to cover this on my own but I am not sure what the ratio normally is.

Can anyone give me the usual range for pensions?
